PITTSBURGH, March 18, 2019 – United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) announced today that Daniel (Dan) R. Brown has been advanced to the position of General Manager, Great Lakes Works effective April 1, 2019. In this position, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Automotive Solutions’ fully integrated steel mill, Great Lakes Works, located in Ecorse, Michigan, and the Midwest Plant located in Portage, Indiana.
Brown joined U. S. Steel in July of 1994 as a Management Associate in the Mon Valley Works Cold Mill and continued through a series of positions of increased responsibility in both primary operations and rolling at multiple facilities, including operations in Europe.
In June of 2018 he was promoted from Gary Works Division Manager, Steelmaking and Casting and became Plant Manager of Primary Operations, Gary Works.
Brown graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Logistics and earned an MBA from Duquesne University in 1998.
