BUILDING A STRONG FRAMEWORK FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Our Best for All® strategy provides our customers with profitable steel solutions while creating a more sustainable future for all stakeholders — our customers, investors, employees and communities where we work and live, In April 2021, we announced an ambitious goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Today, we continue to strive towards this goal by working to achieve a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity (Scope 1 and Scope 2) by 2030.

Governance

Since our founding in 1901, we have upheld our unwavering commitment to doing business ethically, with integrity, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The S.T.E.E.L. Principles, also known as the Gary Principles, set in place by our co-founder and first chairman Judge Elbert Gary, are widely considered to be the first-ever corporate code of ethics and remain central to our business model to this very day.
