FEATURES

USS-EAGLE SFH® premium connection is an integral joint, semi-flush with a wedge thread form and metal to metal seal designed for clearance critical wells requiring maximum torque capacity.

This connection is typically selected in horizontal well designs requiring gas tight leak resistance at elevated internal pressure, and extended lateral lengths that demand high operating torques.

Our USS-EAGLE SFH® premium connection has completed full scale test programs aligned with API TR 5SF validating fatigue life, frac cycling, maximum torque, and gas pressure leak resistance.

USS-EAGLE TC™ RD premium connection is threaded and coupled, and features a reduced diameter coupling that provides outside diameter (OD) clearances similar to integral joint, semi-flush connections. Just like the standard OD version, the USS-EAGLE TC™ RD connection has metal to metal gas tight seal and a wedge thread form that delivers exceptional torque capability.

This connection is typically selected in clearance critical horizontal well designs requiring gas tight leak resistance at elevated internal pressure, 100% efficiency in both tension and compression, and exceptional operating torque capacity for installation in extended laterals.

For most OD and Wall Thickness combinations USS-EAGLE TC™ RD connection is rated 100% in tension and compression efficiency relative to full pipe body. In certain OD/WT combinations where maximum clearance is a priority the tension and compression efficiencies range from 92% to 96%. Just like the standard OD version, the USS-EAGLE TC™ RD product has completed full scale test programs aligned with API TR 5SF validating fatigue life, frac cycling, maximum torque, and gas tight pressure performance.

Available in casing sizes from 4-1/2 to 6 inches.

FEATURES

USS-EAGLE SFM® I connection is an integral joint, semi-flush, premium connection with a wedge thread form and metal to metal seal.

This connection is typically selected for clearance critical intermediate casing applications requiring gas tight leak resistance at elevated internal pressures.

EAGLE SFM® I premium connection tension and compression efficiencies relative to pipe body typically range from 72% to 74%. Full scale testing has been performed to validate maximum torque and pressure performance.

Available in 9 5/8” casing outside diameter OD only.

FEATURES

USS-LIBERTY FJM® premium connection is a true flush connection featuring both internal and external metal-to-metal seals.

The true flush profile and a compressive strength rating that is equivalent to the tension strength rating make it an attractive alternative for repair liner and intermediate casing applications.

Full scale testing of our USS-LIBERTY FJM® producthas been performed in line with the API 5C5/ISO 13679 connection evaluation standard, including internal and external pressure testing combined with tension and compression loads.

Available in pipe sizes from 3-1/2 to 8-5/8 inches.

FEATURES

The USS-LIBERTY TC® product is a threaded and coupled, premium connection featuring our proprietary TightFit™ thread form and an internally shouldered, metal to metal gas tight seal.

This rugged connection is rated 100% in both tension/compression strength and internal/external pressure relative to pipe body, making it an optimal choice for horizontal wells requiring gas tight leak resistance and the ability to rotate casing during installation and/or cementing.

USS-LIBERTY TC® premium connection has been full scale tested to the API RP 5C5:2014 CAL IV protocol, including internal and external pressure testing combined with tension and compression loads.

The connection provides great value in drilling applications where the operating torques approach or exceed the maximum rating of API BTC compatible connections.

The USS-TALON HTQ® connection is rated 100% in tension and compression efficiency relative to full pipe body and has completed full scale test programs aligned with API TR 5SF validating fatigue life, frac cycling, maximum torque, and pressure performance.

Just like the standard OD version, USS-TALON SFC® connection has a wedge thread form that delivers exceptional torque capability.

The connection is specifically designed to meet the intermediate casing clearance requirements mandated by regulatory agencies for drilling on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land and provides great value in applications where OD clearance and increased operating torque capacity are key design considerations.

Due to the significant reduction in connection OD required to meet BLM clearance requirements, tension and compression efficiency relative to full pipe body range from 86% to 93%. Full scale testing has been performed to validate maximum torque and pressure performance.

Available in 7 5/8 inch casing OD only.

USS-CDC® connection is a threaded and coupled semi-premium connection featuring a field proven modified API Buttress thread form and pin to pin shoulder contact in the center of the coupling.

The connection’s pin to pin shoulder allows for easy make-up at the rig and permits rotation of casing during installation.

API OCTG CONNECTIONS

FEATURES

We offer a complete range of American Petroleum Institute (API) certified casing thread types, including short and round thread casing (STC), long round thread casing (LTC) and buttress thread casing (BTC).

STC and LTC both feature a non-runout design of round threads, each with eight round crested threads per inch. BTC has a square thread with a flat root and crest, a runout design, and five buttress threads per inch.

Each thread type is suited for a specific well condition.

 

STC – Suited for shorter length casing applications that do not involve high axial loads or bending.

LTC – Well suited for situations where some axial load is encountered but overall, well conditions do not include extremes of temperatures or pressure.

BTC – Excellent connection for use in well situations involving higher axial loads and moderate internal pressures and temperatures.

U. S. Steel Tubular’s other API connections include non-upset end tubing (NUE) and external-upset end tubing (EUE). Both offer eight or ten round threads per inch and a non-runout design of round threads. NUE is well suited to light duty, general purpose applications.
