Biography

Manpreet S. Grewal joined U. S. Steel in 2020 as Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting officer for U. S. Steel, responsible for all controllership matters and the tax organization. 

Prior to joining U. S. Steel, Mr. Grewal served as Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at Covanta Holding Corporation, an energy-from-waste company, since February 2017. Prior to Covanta, he spent fourteen years at Tyco / Johnson Controls Inc. in roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of internal audit, accounting, controllership and financial planning and analysis.

Mr. Grewal earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Punjabi University Patiala, India. He is the Executive Sponsor of U. S. Steel’s SteelABILITY Employee Resource Group and is also a certified public accountant, certified management accountant and certified fraud examiner.
