Steel Board, including his CEO role with a leading North American steel plate and energy pipe manufacturer. He contributes to the Board his deep understanding of the entire steel production, manufacturing, and operational process, as well as insights into overseeing large, capital intensive investments and integration, industry-wide macroeconomic trends and labor relations, with a solid track record of shareholder value creation.

- Through his service as CEO of IPSCO, Mr. Sutherland brings top level enterprise experience to the Board, having developed and executed a growth strategy that drove IPSCO’s revenue from $1.1 billion to $3.8 billion. He was also responsible for overseeing several strategic opportunities, such as the company’s acquisition of the NS Group, Inc., as well as its own sale to the Swedish steel company SSAB in 2007, expanding the company’s global reach.
- Mr. Sutherland has deep operational experience in all aspects of our industry, including steel, tubulars, and coil processing. He has held important line and staff positions and has been deeply involved in both manufacturing, marketing and sales. In addition to his top executive roles, he has served as chairman of the American Iron and Steel Institute and held other directorships with the Steel Manufacturers Association and the International Iron and Steel Institute.
