What Makes Us: Reno
At Great Lakes Works, Shift Manager Renaldo (Reno) has spent more than 50 years building a career and a legacy. He’s proud of the life U. S. Steel helped him build and the family he was able to provide for because of it. That belief carries forward through his son, who now works alongside him at the plant. For Reno, it comes down to one thing: pride – in the work and what it makes possible for himself and others.

What Makes Us: The Yezovich Family
At U. S. Steel's Mon Valley Works - Edgar Thomson Plant, the Yezovich family carries forward a story that began when their great-grandfather arrived from overseas in 1910 in search of a new life. From that earliest connection to the mill, generations of the family have built careers here, supporting their families and creating lives they're proud of along the way. As they look ahead, they see the same opportunities that shaped their past continuing to shape the future for generations still to come.

He's proud of everything they've built together so far, and what they'll build next.

What Makes Us: Drew
Drew was drawn to the energy of U. S. Steel’s Gary Works from the moment he was recruited out of college. As the leader of maintenance at the plant’s QBOP and #2 Caster, every day brings new challenges, and he views every challenge as a chance to come out on top by solving problems most people would walk away from. For Drew, the energy that comes from working at “the big mill” creates a sense of pride that is second to none and drives him and his team to excel every day.
