Biography

Shigekazu Iwamoto was appointed as a Board Member of United States Steel Corporation in November 2025. Mr. Iwamoto is the Managing Executive Officer at Nippon Steel Corporation and serves as the Head of Global Business Development.

Mr. Iwamoto progressed through a variety of positions in finance and global business at Nippon Steel Corporation since April 1991, including Executive Officer of the Global Business Development Division; General Manager of Accounting & Finance; Senior Manager of the Global Finance Department (Accounting & Finance Division); Senior Financial Specialist and Advisor to the Executive Vice President of Strategy for Usinas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais S.A.(USIMINAS, Brazil); and Senior Manager of the Finance Department (Accounting & Finance Division).

Mr. Iwamoto earned his Bachelor of Commerce from Hitotsubashi University.
