Biography

David Shapiro is a Senior Advisor to the U.S. Department of Commerce and Chief Counsel of the Investment Accelerator at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Prior to joining the Department of Commerce, Mr. Shapiro was a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen, & Katz, where he advised boards of directors and senior management teams of public companies on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, shareholder matters, and other complex strategic transactions.

Mr. Shapiro holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
