Biography

Scott Dorn has been a strategic manager and leader at U. S. Steel since first joining the company in 1988. Today, Mr. Dorn is Vice President – Tubular Solutions, with responsibility for all aspects of the tubular segment, including operations, commercial, quality and product development.

Mr. Dorn started at U. S. Steel as a plant engineer, and held subsequent roles in accounting, corporate finance, and strategic planning. Over the years, he has advanced through positions of increasing responsibility with a particular focus on tubular products, becoming Plant Manager – Lorain Tubular in 2003 and General Manager – Tubular Marketing in 2007, a position he maintained until being named General Manager – Business Development for Commercial, Technology, Tubular and Mining in 2019.

Mr. Dorn holds a Master of Science degree in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University. He is also an affiliate of the American Petroleum Institute, Independent Petroleum Association of America, National Association of Steel Pipe Distributors, and Interstate Natural Gas Association of America.
