Biography

Masashi Imoto is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at U. S. Steel. In his current role, Mr. Imoto leads integration efforts for Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), with a particular focus on unlocking synergies between NSC and U. S. Steel.

Since beginning his career at NSC in April 1991, Mr. Imoto has held a number of senior roles spanning both domestic and international operations. His past leadership positions include Executive Officer and Head of the Pipe & Tube Unit, as well as Executive Officer and Vice Head of the Flat Products Unit. He also led the Flat Products, Rails & Shape Global Marketing Division, deepening his expertise across a range of product segments and global markets. He also brings international experience to his role, having previously served as Director of Commercial at USIMINAS in Brazil

Mr. Imoto is a graduate of Kwansei Gakuin University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics.
