Biography

Takahiro Mori was appointed as Board Member and Chairman of the Board of United States Steel Corporation in June 2025. He is the Representative Director, Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President at Nippon Steel Corporation. At Nippon Steel, Mr. Mori oversees Global Business Development as well as Accounting & Finance, and serves as the Head of the USS Project and India Project, and a Board Member of AM/NS India.

Mr. Mori joined Nippon Steel in 1983 and has over 40 years of experience in various leadership roles across the organization and has been involved in corporate planning, marketing, and human resources. Mr. Mori has served as Representative Director, Executive Vice President, and Head of Global Business Development as well as Accounting & Finance since 2021. Before that, Mr. Mori was Managing Executive Officer and Head of the Plate Unit and Pipe & Tube Unit from April 2020 to April 2021, Executive Vice President of Usiminas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais S.A. from June 2016 through April 2020, and Executive Officer of the Flat Products Unit from April 2014 to June 2016.

Mr. Mori earned a Bachelor of Law from the University of Tokyo and his Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
