Thickness Tolerances
All hot rolled sheet from any source will exhibit some variation in thickness, width, length, flatness and camber. Tolerances for each of these attributes are given in the Tolerance Tables.

Thickness is measured at any point across the width not less than 5/8" (16 mm) from a side trimmed cut edge and not less than 1" (25mm) from a mill edge. The above tolerances do not apply to the uncropped ends of Hot Rolled Sheet Non-Temper Rolled coils. All Hot Rolled products exhibit a degree of crown which is defined as the difference in thickness between the center of the sheet and the thickness 5/8" (16 mm) or 1" (25 mm) from the edge. ** Subject to inquiry.
