Electrolytic Zinc Coated and Zinc-Iron Alloy Coated Sheet
Typical Applications
U. S. Steel Electrolytic Zinc Coated Sheet and Zinc-Iron Alloy Coated Sheet can be used for any and all applications where the corrosion resistance of zinc is required. Today its primary application is in automotive body parts -- fenders, hoods, deck lids, doors -- essentially all automotive exposed body parts. It can be used in any application that uses hot-dip galvanized product today, but for reasons of economics, it is typically used only when the application requires a very smooth surface or when the application requires only a very small amount of corrosion protection (thinner coating thickness than that available via the hot-dip process). The paintable matte finish, excellent formability and consistency of mechanical properties are attributes that make U. S. Steel Electrogalvanized sheet a good choice to meet rigorous manufacturing requirements.
