RCRA Facility Investigation (RFI)

Sheet & Tin Mill SWMA
The Sheet and Tin Mill SWMA encompasses approximately 602 acres and includes the areas associated with Sheet and Tin Mill operations. The primary operations occurring at the SWMA are hot rolling, pickling, sheet and tin cold reducing/galvanizing/annealing/tempering/finishing/coating, and roll reconditioning. Hot rolling is the process by which steel slabs are reheated and rolled into steel coils. Historically, stainless finishing also took place. Support activities in the SWMA include materials handling operations, spent pickle liquor collection, used oil recycling, and wastewater treatment facilities. 



Current Status: Phase I Investigation COMPLETE. Report submitted to EPA for approval
