U. S. Steel Midwest Plant  Environmental Policy
It is U.S. Steel Midwest Plant’s policy to conduct its operations in a manner that is protective of the environment and to consider environmental management in all aspects of our operations. Accordingly, with the full approval and support of Plant Management, the Midwest Plant is committed to:

Comply with all federal, state and local environmental regulations; permit conditions, voluntary agreements and any other applicable environmental requirements.

Improve our environmental performance and image by establishing and attaining environmental objectives. A major environmental objective is to prevent pollution through source reduction of the products we use and through control of our work activities.

Train all employees at the Midwest Plant to follow established procedures and to perform their duties in an environmentally responsible manner.

Evaluate our environmental performance and the suitability of the Environmental Management System through an examination of environmental compliance trends, audit results and the Management Review process.
