Machine Shop


The machine shop at the Automotive Center laboratory supports test specimen preparation needs for the material test lab, mechanical test lab and metallography lab. In addition, the machine shop consists of a CNC milling machine, which is linked to a CAD/CAM workstation. The designed tools/dies from the CAD workstation can be directly linked to the CNC machine through CAM and the tool/die can be milled from the machine.

Our lab has been accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) within the field of mechanical testing. The A2LA certificate can be found on our certifications page.
